Quality assurance
In order to comply with our customers’ requirements and statutory specifications, test facilities are absolutely essential. Since 1993 our company has got a certified quality management system. Numerous other certifications, e.g. to KTA 1401, QSP4a, AD-WO, TRD 100, 97/23/EG Directive (Pressure Equipment Directive), classification companies, etc. have also been obtained.
The area of non-destructive testing of castings includes surface flaw detection tests using magnetic processes or dye penetrant tests to DIN EN 1371-1, DIN 1690 parts 2 and 10 and SEP 1936.
Volume tests record the internal quality of castings. One method involves ultrasonic testing using various probes. Another method applied in-house is radiography testing (generally referred to as X-raying). The castings or certain areas thereof are radiated using IR192, cobalt 60 and a linear accelerator with up to 3MeV. We can use this equipment to test wall thicknesses of up to 300 mm.

Non-destructive testing is performed by employees who have passed at least the Level 1 exam based on EN DIN 473. A Level 3 tester is available for supervising surface flaw detection and volume tests.
Dimensional tests on larger castings do not create a problem for us.
By means of a coordinate measuring machine in accordance with VDJ 2617 Bl.2.1, castings to dimensions of 3,300 x 2,030 x 1,500 mm can be examined. Several tracing dimension panels are available for simple dimensional checks.
A tensile testing machine and a charpy-v-notch impact hammer are available for destructive material testing.
