The modern fettling shop is equipped with state-of-the-art finishing devices and suction plants at each workstation. In a separate area, the high-alloy materials are cleaned while unalloyed and low-alloy grades are separated in other cleaning shops on the basis of serial casting and large casting.
Necessary production welding is performed under the supervision of our professional welding engineers and experts. Welders and welding processes are qualified in accordance with the applicable standards and are regularly checked on the basis of specified regulations.
A pickling department is set up in the area of the stainless steel fettling area where corrosion-resistant cast steel grades and nickel-based alloys are pickled and rendered passive if so required by the customer.
Heat treatment equipment is also integrated in the fettling shops. Six furnaces are available for appropriate heat treatment of the various cast steel grades. Possibilities for cooling castings (air, polymer or water quenching) are also available. The maximum possible annealing temperature is 1.250 °C. At this annealing temperature, so-called superaustenites with 6% to 7% molybdenum or nickel-based alloys can be solution-annealed in compliance with the various materials requirements.
